Paul Scheuerlein

Paul Scheuerlein graduated from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University in 1975 and received his Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University in 1984. Upon graduation, Paul moved to Chicago and joined the law firm of Cantwell & Cantwell, concentrating on securities, commercial litigation, and family law. He eventually became a partner and worked there for 23 years. In addition to litigating in every branch of the state court system, Paul has argued before the Illinois Appellate Court Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, represented creditors in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, submitted briefs in the Illinois Supreme Court, and opposed certiorari in the U.S. Supreme Court.  

Paul’s practice focuses on all phases of our client’s various litigation needs, including litigating contract and employment disputes, pursuing and defending emergency injunctive relief, enforcing creditors’ rights, and defending claims arising from complex accidents and severe injuries.  Paul’s litigation experience extends beyond the commercial realm, and he assists many individual clients in addressing their problems in probate and domestic relations courts.

Paul has a business transactional practice, representing small businesses in all phases of their inception, growth, and development. He advises them on a variety of matters, including intellectual property and employment issues. Paul is also counsel to a major running specialty retailer in the Chicago area.

Paul is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. He enjoys running, cycling, and cooking.
