Paul Scheuerlein graduated from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University in 1975 and received his Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University in 1984. Upon graduation, Paul moved to Chicago and joined the law firm of Cantwell & Cantwell, concentrating on securities and commercial litigation, and family law. He eventually became a partner and worked there for 23 years. In addition to litigating in every branch of the state court system, Paul has argued before the Illinois Appellate Court, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, represented creditors in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, submitted briefs in the Illinois Supreme Court, and opposed certiorari in the U.S. Supreme Court.

Paul’s practice focuses on all phases of our client’s various litigation needs, including litigating contract and employment disputes, pursuing and defending emergency injunctive relief, enforcing creditors’ rights. Paul’s litigation experience extends beyond the commercial realm, and he assists many individual clients in addressing their problems in probate and domestic relations courts.
Paul has a business transactional practice, representing small businesses in all phases of their inception, growth, and development. He advises them on a variety of matters, including intellectual property and employment issues. Paul is also counsel to a major running specialty retailer in the Chicago area.

Paul enjoys reading, with an emphasis on fiction and science fiction, long distance endurance cycling, strength work, yoga, cooking, and mixology.
