Peter Gaido
Peter Gaido graduated from Beloit College in 1986, and in 1989, received his Juris Doctorate from Washington University School of Law. Upon graduation, Peter joined Cantwell & Cantwell where he practiced securities and commercial litigation. In 1993, Peter joined Stamos & Trucco and became a partner in 1997. At Stamos & Trucco, his practice focused on litigation and representing health care providers, non-profit associations, and other business entities.
In 2002, Peter and Scott Fintzen formed Gaido & Fintzen, with the goal of providing responsive, effective, and high-quality legal services for individuals, businesses, and tax-exempt organizations.
Throughout his career, Peter has served as general counsel to national and international tax-exempt organizations. He is currently legal counsel to more than fifty tax-exempt organizations whose annual budgets range from under $100,000 to over $100,000,000. Peter has also formed and counsels numerous for-profit organizations. Peter has represented clients in various administrative proceedings throughout the U.S. and in Puerto Rico, and presented oral arguments in the Appellate Courts of Illinois, First and Fourth Districts, and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Peter has represented physicians across the U.S. and in Puerto Rico in court and before state medical boards, hospital governing bodies, and other administrative forums, regarding accreditation, credentialing, privileging, and various anti-competitive matters. Peter also counsels and represents professionals from other industries in connection with their employment, contractual, administrative, transactional, dispute resolution, and other legal needs.
He is the author of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery’s Privileging Block Informational Packet and Litigation Assistance Informational Packet, and Goo Goo Gaa Gaa: the Baby Talk Dictionary and Phrase Book.
He is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
